Our IT Infrastructure Services Department is looking for an Identity & Access Management Specialist Role.
Job Purpose
The IAM Analyst is responsible for account life cycle process management and auditing/reporting as appropriate. Additionally, the IAM participates in developing workflows, system configuration, documentation, optimization, and support related to access while working with other Information Technology Services (ITS) Teams to deploy new capabilities and functionality.

Essential Functions
Conducting user account life cycle management reviews, including creating, provisioning, securing, and revoking access. Work with appropriate staff to deploy innovative compliance management and application security solutions. Planning, building, testing, managing, and updating security for the protection of and access to TN Tech systems. Developing and maintaining detailed documentation on policy, standard operating procedures, system configurations, and technical settings for internal team use, end-user support, and other IS teams as needed. Assisting with system upgrades and evaluating new technologies, settings, and functionality. Participating in projects to ensure standard processes and procedures are implemented when rolling out new provisioning and role management points. Generating reports to perform in-depth analysis and data collection for issues associated with IAM. Participating in “on-call” rotation and being a Cyber-Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) member. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, any discipline will be considered if applicant has the required work experience. Three (3) years relevant work experience and software experience: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, or other Identity and Access Management applications. Moderate competency in the following areas: Communication, Effective team member, Critical thinking, Identify Management, Technology Awareness Emerging competency in the following: Leadership including leading with integrity, maintaining strategic orientation, championing innovation, managing execution, leading and developing people. Leading highly empowered, self-directed teams including cross-functional teams. Ability to analyze data and information with a detailed understanding of regulatory requirements that impact the higher education industry, as well as security frameworks and methodologies. Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and personal accountability when working with confidential and restricted data, including Personal Identifiable Information (PII), Protected Health Information (PHI), Payment Card Information (PCI), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science or related field. Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and software experience: Activity Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, or other Identity and Access Management applications. Experience with FERPA, HIPPA, and/or PCI data types. Two (2)+ years’ experience working in a higher education IT environment. Master’s Degree in a computer-technical or business-oriented field. IT certifications such as A+, Security+, CCSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, etc.
Work Hours
8:00am – 4:30pm
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Administrative Pay Grade AD48. This is a two-year funded position with the possibility of renewal based on future funding. A hybrid work option may be possible.
