The Technical Product Owner works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the Division of Information Technology (DIT). The incumbent will lead the Workday technical team providing managerial oversight with a focus on designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining data integrations, reports, and general tenant management. Incumbent will also support tenant refreshes and periodic system upgrades. This position will lead the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and performance of applications, security, and infrastructure and will provide ongoing support for UMD’s internal and external user base. In addition, the position will be responsible for an effective vision that considers technical innovation, business strategy, employee touch points, risk, and affordability.
Minimum qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience:
-
- Minimum of ten (10+) years’ experience in role(s) where responsible for the oversight of IT projects
- Insightful, technology aware hands-on IT Operations leader with senior level leadership skills, presence, and communication skills
- 10 years IT experience in technical analysis, design, and implementation
- Direct management of IT operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:- Detailed understanding of ERP System concepts and general module functionality
- Strong program/project management leadership knowledge and skills, covering planning and execution including ability to rapidly assess risk and identify/resolve issues
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under various conditions and constraints
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship and conflict management
- Understanding of IT Change Management practices
Preferences
- University of Maryland experience
- Workday or modern SaaS ERP experience
- ERP implementation experience in large scale projects
Additional Certifications

- PMP or ITIL certification is preferred

Salary range is in the $180,000s – $190,000s.
